For this special labor day weekend iteration of The Spark; we would like to turn your attention to a brand new up and coming rock group by the name of Deer Mother, who have been churning out some pretty awesome tunes.
Comprising of Red Parade recording artist Jesse Thomas, her label mates, and her producer Jim Roach, the idea for Deer Mother was formed (interestingly enough) during a recording studio session that was originally for a Carl’s Jr commercial.
“I had Jesse sing real aggressively, much more aggressively than she sings on her solo material. It sounded really awesome and we knew we had a fun project on our hands.” says Jim the band’s producer and guitar player.
While the band still has yet to release a full EP (it’s expected by the end of summer!), Deer Mother have already released their debut song “Target” to the world and you can listen to it below:
