Metallica To Reissue ‘Some Kind Of Monster’ Documentary

Metallica has recently announced that they will be reissuing a special 10th anniversary edition of their famous 2004 documentary, ‘Some Kind Of Monster’.  The new and improved documentary can be purchased as a digital download or a two-disc Blu-ray, available beginning November 24th.

The original film, directed by Joe Berlinger and Bruce Sinofsky, documents the making of the band’s 2003 LP, ‘St. Anger’,  showing how the inner-band issues caused much turmoil in the recording process and ultimately led to multiple delays in the album. ‘Some Kind Of Monster’ was praised for the honesty of the film and won the 2004 Independent Spirit Award for Best Documentary feature. The reissued set will include the original film, as well as a 25-minute bonus video, ‘Metallica: The Monster Lives’,  which was filmed last year at the band’s second video release, ‘Through The Never’, and focuses on the 10 years between the two films.

In addition to  the film, Metallica has also announced that they will be releasing a limited-edition vinyl of their newest single ‘Lords Of Summer’ for Record Store Day Black Friday on November 28th. The band has also recently been added to the Guinness Book Of World Records for being the first band to perform on all seven continents in one year, topping off the achievement last December with a Show in Antarctica.
