Seattle based rock band Pearl Jam is looking to top the Billboard 200 with their latest release “Lightning Bolt”, released October 15th, making it their fifth album to hit number one on the charts.

The new album is projected to reach 170 to 180 thousand copies sold in its first week, according to Billboard.com, potentially knocking down Miley Cyrus’ latest release “Bangerz”, which has only topped the charts for one week. Their last album, “Backspacer”, released in 2009, hit the number one spot with 189 thousand copies sold in its first week. Official chart information will be posted on October 23rd.

Pearl Jam is currently on tour in support of “Lightning Bolt”, with 19 more shows in North America, then traveling overseas for a 6 show tour in New Zealand and Australia in 2014. Tonight and tomorrow they will be performing at the Wells Fargo Arena in Philadelphia, PA.
