Imagine Dragons, Lorde nominated for Record of the Year

Two of the most talked about musical acts of this year have been nominated for a Grammy for Record of the Year by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences.  Lorde, the young singer/songwriter whose breakout hit “Royals” received play on every radio station format, and American alt-rockers Imagine Dragons,  are both vying for the honor against pop troubadours Bruno Mars, Robin Thicke and musical masterminds, Daft Punk, for the prestigious award.

Announced earlier this week, the lists includes well-known alternative artists and new-comers which will hopefully make for an interesting broadcast. Other nominees include Queens of the Stone Age, Vampire Weekend, The National and Daft Punk (among others).

The 56th Grammy’s will be broadcast early next year. You can find the full list here.
