Metallica will also appear at this year’s MusiCares MAP Fund awards show which will honor Ozzy Osbourne.
The band has released the following statement on their website:

We are so proud to be a part of the tenth annual MusiCares MAP Fund benefit concert as our dear friend Ozzy Osbourne is presented with the Stevie Ray Vaughan Award on Monday, May 12 in Los Angeles. It’s no secret that Ozzy has been a major presence throughout our entire lives and we are so humbled and honored to be with Ozzy for this special evening.

The MusiCares MAP Fund allows access to addiction recovery treatment and sober living resources for members of the music community as well as offering support groups for working and touring members. James was the recipient of this award in 2006 and we are proud to continue to support the amazing work that the MAP Fund does. Also joining us in honoring Ozzy that night will be Keb’ Mo’ and a special performance by Ozzy and his touring band including Slash on guitar. Joe Walsh will be there to present Ozzy with his award and Jeff Greenberg, owner/CEO of the Village studios, will be receiving the From The Heart Award from Craig Ferguson.

The event takes place in Los Angeles at Club Nokia. Tickets are available only through AXS at www.axs.com.
