Just when we thought this ‘Weezer Week’ couldn’t get any better, the Los Angeles based four piece has somehow managed prove us wrong yet again. Earlier this week, Weezer announced that they will be doing a small club tour to only a handful of cities. That very same day, the band released a third single off their album entitled ‘The British Are Coming’. Then on Thursday, the boys proved they can still kick it old school by announcing that they will be selling cassette tape versions of ‘Everything Will Be Alright In The End’, an announcement that shocked the Weezer fan base. Normally after such a huge week, a band would be content to sit back, relax, and let the hype train do it’s job, having already done plenty to promote their new record. But nope! Not Weezer! Just when we thought it couldn’t get any better, the band has just released their fourth single from their upcoming record, a new track titled ‘Lonely Girl’.
With only 11 days left before the official release of the album, its safe to say that Weezer knows how to keep their fan base excited for some new work. ‘Lonely Girl’ is without a doubt classic Weezer and sounds like something that belongs on ‘Pinkerton’ or ‘The Blue Album’. It’s nothing but the guys and their instruments, with lyrics that are simple yet classic Weezer. Listen to ‘Lonely Girl’ below!
