Muse Working With AC/DC Producer On Next Album

Muse has recently announced that they have been working with the legendary producer, Robert ‘Mutt’ Lange on their upcoming album. The band shared the news via their Instagram page with an old picture of AC/DC and Lange together, follwed by the caption: “We are honoured to be making our new album with this legendary producer. #backinblack”

The band used the hashtag #backinblack in reference to a 1980 AC/DC album that Lange worked on. Lange is known for working with very well-known artists such as Def Leppard, and Foreigner, and has produces album for ex-wife Shania Twain. Recently, Lange has been known for working with Maroon 5 and Nickelback, as well as writing Lady Gaga’s infamous, ‘You And I’.

Muse is working on their 7th studio album, and a follow-up to their 2013 album, ‘The 2nd Law’. Earlier in the year, drummer Dom Howard stated the following about their next chapter: “We’re going to start this year… We’re going to go back in May and start working on some new stuff, so I think we’ll start making it this year… If we can get something out this year, that would be great, but definitely next year.”

In regards to the plans for the new album, Matt Bellamy commented: “I have this strong feeling that the next album should be something that really does strip away the additional things that we’ve experimented with on the last two albums, which is electronics, symphonics and orchestral work and all that kind of stuff.”
