Bono Injured In Cycling Accident

It seems as though U2’s Bono just can’t catch a break! First, he upset millions of people by working with Apple to give everyone a free album. Then, there was a malfunction with his private jet, causing the plane to lose a hatch at 8000 feet in the air. Although he was not injured and was never really in danger, it was probably a rather traumatizing incident. Now, the singer will need surgery on his arm that was injured in a cycling accident. Because of the accident, the band had to cancel their residency on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. A post on the band’s official website stated:

“It looks like we will have to do our Tonight Show residency another time – we’re one man down. Bono has injured his arm in a cycling spill in Central Park and requires some surgery to repair it. We’re sure he’ll make a full recovery soon, so we’ll be back! Much thanks to Jimmy Fallon and everyone at the show for their understanding.”

Although the band had to cancel their appearance on the show, Jimmy Fallon was not upset, and even cracked a couple jokes in light of the situation. Fallon made it very clear that he wishes Bono well and there are no hard feelings. Although the audience members and those tuning into the show may have been upset that U2 wasn’t there, Jimmy Fallon, being known for his impressions, took a crack at Bono and performed U2’s ‘Desire’ with backing band The Roots. It’s no surprise that Fallon would keep his show alive by performing the song himself, and it was incredible. Check out the video below!
