Legendary ‘Razer Guy’, Robert Krakoff, Passes Away at 81

It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of Robert Krakoff’s passing. Better known as ‘Razer Guy,’ Robert was a gaming icon and Co-Founder & President Emeritus of the current iteration of Razer. Together with Min-Liang Tan, Robert helped launch the Razer we all know and love.

The news was first spread by his family via Facebook yesterday, however out of respect for his family’s privacy, we felt it would be best to hold off reporting this until it became public. As it has now been confirmed on Razer, we have chosen to report on the story.

The current iteration of Razer was founded in 2005 and has become one of the most important companies in the gaming world. Their products have helped gamers around the globe achieve victory, and they continue to innovate new technologies that enhance gameplay. Razer is one of the most popular gaming companies in the world, thanks in part to Robert’s passion.

Team Razer had the following to say regarding his passing:

Team Razer is saddened by the passing of Co-Founder and President Emeritus, Robert Krakoff, known by everyone as RazerGuy. Robert’s unwavering drive and passion for gaming lives on and continues to inspire all of us.

Thank you Rob, you’ll be missed.”

Robert Krakoff was an important part of Razer and helped make it the company it is today. He will be deeply missed by the gaming community. Our thoughts are with his family and friends during this difficult time. Thank you, Robert, for everything. You will be greatly missed. Rest in peace.
