The DARK ELEMENT is a project fronted by vocalist Anette Olzon, together with Finnish guitarist and songwriter Jani Liimatainen. November 8th sees the release of the duo’s second album entitled “Songs The Night Sings.” Watch the lyric video for the new track “The Pallbearer Walks Alone” HERE:

Songs The Night Sings” takes off where the self-titled debut left off, with immaculate vocals from Anette Olzon and fabulous anthems written by Jani. Watch the video for the title track here:

Since word of this project got out two years ago, fans had been frothing at the mouth with anticipation for the arrival of the band’s debut album. And no wonder considering the talent involved! Anette is widely known for being the immaculate voice on the hit albums from Nightwish, “Dark Passion Play” and “Imaginareum”. Jani, at the time, had recently been busy in Cain’s Offering alongside Stratovarius singer Timo Kotipelto, but left a deep mark on the minds of all power metal fans thanks to his time in Sonata Arctica. The resulting self-titled debut album, released in November 2017, was a joyous event for symphonic metal fans. Keen to be more than just a one-off, Jani and Anette reconvened to get the second album together for release this year. Jani’s been busy touring and recording with Insomnium, while Anette has been busy with other projects (more to be revealed later), but they worked hard to put their second album, “Songs The Night Sings” together. Fans of the first album will find much to be delighted with here, while symphonic metal fans who haven’t yet caught on, will be eager to dive in.

THE DARK ELEMENT made its live debut in June 2018 at the Sweden Rock Festival in Sölvesborg, Sweden. The band also completed a short Japanese tour and performed at the Frontiers Rock Sweden festival in October at Fryshuset Klubben in Stockholm. Get ready to enjoy even more shows soon!

LAVISHER: “Drastic Shadows” Out Now And Streaming On All Platforms [Press Release]

Drastic Shadows, the debut full-length from Chicago alt-rock band LAVISHER, is out now, the band’s first release through Nefarious Industries. Following its official worldwide release this past Friday, the record is currently streaming on all digital platforms in its entirety.

LAVISHER is a rock band whose sleek riffs and time-bending grooves draw comparisons to Failure, A Perfect Circle, and Queens Of The Stone Age. Their darkly uplifting songwriting is composed of minimalist poetry, textured guitar work, throbbing low end, and focused drumming. Following their 2017-released self-titled EP, the band now presents their first full-length recording, Drastic Shadows.

Drastic Shadows was recorded and mixed by Pete Grossman at Bricktop Studios in Chicago, Illinois (Jesus Piece, Nequient, Without Waves), while the tracks “Escape” and “Drastic Shadows” were recorded and mixed by J. Hall in Franklin, Tennessee. The album was mastered by Brad Blackwood at Euphonic Masters in Memphis, Tennessee and finished with artwork photographed by Cesar Contreras and edited by Emily Germann.

Treble offers, “It’s a melodic and anthemic blend of metal heaviness with heroic verses and a soaring chorus, leaning toward the left-field side of alternative rock radio, a la Queens Of The Stone Age or Failure, with shades of underground post-hardcore in the vein of Quicksand or Shiner… super catchy.” Captured Howls writes, “The Chicago band LAVISHER sound memorably confident on their upcoming debut album Drastic Shadows, which packs the group diving into intense waves of sound with the readily apparent guiding hand of musicians who know their craft. Their intense but simultaneously accessible rock music captures an experience of turning tension into a near irresistible drive forward.”

Stream LAVISHER’s Drastic Shadows on all platforms at THIS LOCATION.

Drastic Shadows is out now via Nefarious Industries on eco-wallet CD and digital platforms through the label webshop HERE and via all digital providers HERE.

Watch for LAVISHER to announce tour dates in support of the album in the weeks ahead.

Tsunami Bomb Returns with New LP ‘The Spine That Binds’ [Press Release]

Out November 8 on Alternative Tentacles - Produced by the Band and Mixed by Jack Shirley

Photo: Kevin Vonesper

Northern California’s punk rock cult favorites Tsunami Bomb are back with ‘The Spine That Binds,’ their first new LP in 15 years.

The LP, which was produced by the band and mixed by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Joyce Manor, Jeff Rosenstock), will be released on November 8th via Alternative Tentacles.

A new track “Petaluma” debuted yesterday on Kerrang! and is now streaming here.

Keyboardist/vocalist Oobliette Sparks tells Kerrang!, “Petaluma is about reaching a crossroad and realizing after choosing your path, that no matter how fast you run or how far you go, your past will find a way to catch up to you. How you decide to face it when it does is the only real path to finding absolution.”

‘The Spine That Binds’ will be released digitally and on limited edition colored vinyl.

Vinyl Pressing Details:

-100 Coke Bottle Clear Vinyl for Tsunami Bomb Squad and Alternative Tentacles Records Vinyl Subscribers (sold out)

-400 Turquoise Vinyl (available for pre-order online with copies also available at FEST and band’s upcoming album release show).

-Classic black vinyl

Pre-order bundles for the limited edition turquoise vinyl are now available at Alternative Tentacles Records’ online store. Exclusive shirt featuring the incredible cover art by JXRXKX, poster with photography by Amber Mannon, and an enamel pin by bassist Dominic Davi are also available in different combinations… and of course you can just get the record on LP or CD right here:

With the long-awaited third full-length release, ‘The Spine That Binds,’ Tsunami Bomb have proven that this latest chapter of the band not only embraces their signature style of aggressive pop-punk supplemented by a touch of darkness but has taken it even further.

Honing their skills of melody while being more in-your-face and more aggressive than ever, they conjure a dark journey of discovery with each track. Originally formed in 1998, and disbanding after many member changes in 2005, TSUNAMI BOMB reformed at the end of 2015.

This new release finds the quintet brought to life with the return of founders Dominic Davi (bass/backing vocals), Oobliette Sparks (keyboards/co-lead vocals), and Gabriel Lindeman (drums). Joined by Kate Jacobi (lead vocals) and Andrew Pohl (guitars/backing vocals), they combine their skills to create a sound that effortlessly mixes dark musings on the search to find one’s place in an increasingly uncaring world, into unforgettable anthems, calling on you to get up and sing-a-long.

‘The Spine That Binds’ opens with the band’s ominous declaration of their return to life in the album opener, “Tidal”, while the first single, “The Hathors” is a heartfelt rejection of the expectations and the demands that have been placed upon them.

The band doesn’t hold back from there, calling out their detractors and drawing lines in the sand with aggressive tracks like “Naysayers” and “Dead Men Can’t Catcall.”

TSUNAMI BOMB continues to express its discontent with the world that is unfolding around them with some of the catchiest songs on the album like “Sinkhole”, “Phosphene” and “Lullaby for the End of the World”, while still taking time to mourn those they have lost along the way on the deceptively upbeat “Last Call” and the heartbreakingly haunting “Wake The Dead.”

While they address the need to move on in the dizzyingly intense and melodic “Petaluma,” in the end they resolve to stand and fight in the anthemic chant heavy title track and album closer, “The Spine That Binds” that makes it clear this time it’s their story, their fight, and their song.

‘The Spine That Binds’ is not asking for your acceptance, it demands it. This album will scratch the itch of all the die-hard fans looking for that familiar TSUNAMI BOMB sound, but also show a new, angrier and brutally honest side of the band. With the support of Jello Biafra’s legendary punk rock label, Alternative Tentacles Records, TSUNAMI BOMB has not only heard your call, but they are also ready for the newest chapter to unfold and they are taking us all with them.

AHZ Return With New Single “It’s Alive” [Press Release]

Group features LA-based producers Brody Jenner, SAVI, Loren Moore and lead vocalist Adam O’Rourke.

After dropping their debut single, “Bad Decisions” racked up more than 500,000 streams. Genre-bending, electronic-bass-rock project AHZ has now returned with a second single titled “It’s Alive”. The bass heavy track features vocalist Adam O’Rourke delivering some sultry melodies before the track descends into a massive, endorphin filled, dubstep banger. The video was directed by Colin Lepper in a stop-motion animation style that combines with AHZ frantic beats to create a unique visual experience for fans. The video can be seen online at

“It’s important to us that we give people something truly unique for their ears and eyes to feast on,” said AHZ’s Brody Jenner. “Collaborating with Colin Lepper on this video we are confident we have achieved that. It’s a wild ride.”

Director Colin Lepper added, “I was thrilled at the prospect of evolving my own work alongside AHZ’s music. Their off-kilter beats made me view my own work with a brand new tone, one that feels darker and more urgent. The video simultaneously makes me want to party and panic, and it’s that sort of juxtaposition that I love exploring.”

AHZ’s fresh and innovative take on dance and electronic music combines elements of electronic rock, punk, bass, and pop. Ushering in a new generation of sound, they are forging their own path, bringing something that’s been missing, and very much needed to the scene. Their debut single “Bad Decisions” was the focus of an episode of The MTV reality series The Hills: New Beginnings and was added to heavy rotation. The deafening buzz around AHZ lead to the band performing in front of a packed house for their live debut in Los Angeles, CA back and has them slotted on major festivals in 2020.

AHZ are currently in the final stages of recording their debut album at their Malibu-based studio “Dingo’s Den” for an early 2020 release.

[Press Release] Twin Atlantic Announce New Album “Power” – Out January 24

Twin Atlantic return with aplomb on new album POWER – their scorching, charged-up fourth LP and their first release on Harvest Records in the U.S. and Virgin EMI in the U.K. – out January 24th. The record’s first taste arrives in the shape of the addictive “Novocaine” – a racing, adrenalized synth-rock anthem. Listen to “Novocaine” HERE.

Speaking of the single, Sam McTrusty comments, “I wanted to force myself to be more honest and open. The song tells the story of the most intimate connection I’ve ever felt with someone else when I first met my wife. That feeling of obsession taking over every thought and reason was almost like an addiction at the time. It embarrasses us in some ways that we fell victim to such a cliched movie script love story, but equally amazes us that it ever happened.”

Tapping into their LCD Soundsystem fandom, and acknowledging the influence of Depeche Mode, POWER is eight punchy tracks and two compelling interludes. No fat, no fuss, all fire, made by a band plugging in, turning it up and taking charge. The message: here are their new songs, take them – and the band – as you find them.

After ten years, Twin Atlantic got their Glasgow studio fully up-and-running. They gigged for thrills, and used the money to fund the album they wanted to make. They took charge of production. And only then, when all that was done and dusted, did they sign a new record deal. Yes, they had to do everything themselves – and they’d have had it no other way.

“There’s not a single other thing we could have done to be back in control of our own futures,” states bassist Ross McNae of exactly the outcome they dreamt of two long years ago.

Diving into the themes of the record, McTrusty explains; “The album is inspired by colours, moods, memories. We just got into a room and started creating. The studio as its own instrument reached a new level – we created nothing outside those walls and it became a physical embodiment of the album itself. POWER is our own example that there’s always a way forward when you are faced with limitations and red lights. It’s reignited our ambition and drive for what we can achieve. Hearing these songs, that’s what I feel and hear: power,” concludes Sam McTrusty. “And that’s what the last two years have made us feel as a band: totally empowered.”

Following a blistering main stage performance at Reading & Leeds Festival, as well as supporting The 1975 in Glasgow, Twin Atlantic make their full live return with the announcement of a March underplay tour, including an intimate night at London’s Electric Ballroom. Full routing can be found below.

POWER track listing:
1. Oh! Euphoria!
2. Barcelona
3. Novocaine
4. Mount Bungo (Interlude)

[Press Release] Lorna Shore Announces Signing With Century Media Records

Band To Tour The U.S. With Fit For An Autopsy And Rivers Of Nihil

Having just finished a stint on the US Summer Slaughter tour, New Jersey’s LORNA SHORE have just announced their signing to Century Media Records. Their forthcoming album, Immortal, due in early 2020, is nothing short of a shock of blackened, symphonic ambitions and epic intents. It’s a milestone for LORNA SHORE, who have built a sizable reputation touring the US and abroad alongside the likes of The Black Dahlia MurderCarnifex and Chelsea Grin.

Formed in 2010, LORNA SHORE is quick to surpass “local band” expectations with 2012’s Bone Kingdom EP and it’s follow-up, 2013’s Malificium EP, which peaked at #3 on the iTunes Metal charts. Through each release, LORNA SHORE continues to prove themselves to be an increasingly formidable force and a ferocious live proposition. 2017’s sophomore LP, Flesh Coffin showed a band that had moved beyond mere “deathcore” trappings and had evolved into a modern metal band, as uncompromising and accomplished as any of their contemporaries or influences.

“We became the band we wanted to be, rather than just the product of our early influences,” says guitarist Adam De Micco“Immortal is the latest chapter of that story of us as a band, as players and as people.” Armed with new vocalist C.J. McCreery (ex-Signs of the Swarm), LORNA SHORE has made a record that stands apart from their earlier works. The earliest hints of that have come with the release of album tracks, “This Is Hell” and “Darkest Spawn“, twin deathly salvos released from LORNA SHORE’s early album sessions with producer Josh Schroeder (Battlecross, King 810, For Today) at Random Awesome Studios in Midland, MI. Recording for the album – which was initially intended for release through another label – was complete in mid-2019, leading the band to cement a deal with Century Media in late August.

“Signing with Century Media is the beginning of another chapter for us as a band,” states drummer Austin Archey“We came through a lot tough situations: from changing members to even getting this record finished, that only pushed us to become a better band. We’re happy to share that with a label we’ve always respected.”

LORNA SHORE will begin to showcase the sounds of Immortal as they hit the road in October with Fit for an Autopsy, Rivers of Nihil, The Last Ten Seconds of Life and Dyscarnate for a month of U.S. dates. “I was truly surprised and excited by what the band delivered,” says Century Media U.S. A&R, Mike Gitter“It was light-years beyond any expectations or preconceptions I had for them – and I think that will be the case as new and old fans start to hear new LORNA SHORE music.”

Century Media Director, Philipp Schulte, states, “We are very excited to welcome LORNA SHORE to Century Media Records. The two previously released tracks, “This is Hell” and “Darkest Spawn” both from an early recording session of the upcoming album, showcase the band in top shape, but are just a premonition of what the new album holds in store. We are honored to release Immortal, LORNA SHORE’s new opus, as a prime example that extreme music done right is still of highest relevance.”

[Press Release] Waterparks Premiere New Video “Easy To Hate”

Today, Waterparks have shared the new music video for “EASY TO HATE.” Fans can watch the video here. Directed by frontman, Awsten Knight, “EASY TO HATE” is the third video directed by the singer.

Last Friday, Waterparks released their third full-length and Hopeless Records debut album, FANDOM. Fans can purchase the album here.

Produced by Zakk Cervini (Poppy, Yungblud, nothing, nowhere.)FANDOM is an adventurous, exciting collection of songs that show lead singer Awsten Knight as a multi-dimensional artist with a lot to say and reflect on. Speaking to the themes of the album, Awsten shares, “We talked about music culture and fandom culture, how those things affect me, where I am mentally, and even a little bit about those relationships. A lot of the stuff that is more ‘heartbreak’ centered is coming from a more confident place than a self-pitying view. That’s why this is my favorite stuff we’ve done.”

Leading up to FANDOM, the band introduced the green-hued era with the frenetic, hashtaggable anthem, “Turbulent,” a Rock Sound cover announcement, and the signing to Los Angeles-based independent record label, Hopeless Records. To follow would be the most ambitious roll-out plan the band has taken to date.

Waterparks focused on assembling a cohesive vision across the board. Awsten personally shot and designed the album art and directed the music videos, contributing to the overall cohesion, and making this the most fully-realized album to date.

Starting off with the brutally honest critique of fandom and success with the unfiltered and unmitigated, “Watch What Happens Next” and following up three days later with the deeply personal and wonderful pop of “Dream Boy,” Waterparks erupted into summer with the directorial debuts of Awsten Knight and historic adds to Sirius XM, Radio Disney, and MTV. The song is currently on the Sirius XM Hits Top 20 chart and rising at Pop radio (#70 this week). Buoyed by additional single releases “[Reboot]” and fan favorite “High Definition,” the band enjoyed over five global Twitter Top 10 trending hashtags throughout the album roll-out.

On the album, Awsten leaves off, “I hope audiences experience the record with open minds. It would be easy to repeat ourselves. The older albums are a part of who we are. I want listeners to accept growth and the honest expression of where we’re at now. This is Waterparks.”

FANDOM is out now. Fans can stream or purchase the album here.

Waterparks will be hitting the road on THE FANDOM TOUR presented by The Noise. They will be supported by Yung Pinch and Kitten on the U.S. leg of the tour. Full dates are below. Tickets and VIP packages are available now at
