It looks like the masks will live to be worn another day.
Corey Taylor has recently taken to twitter to dispel rumors that Slipknot are falling apart, or on the verge of calling it quits. Rebutting the idea via his personal Twitter account, Corey responded with the following:
For those who think The Knot are falling apart, you are greatly and sadly mistaken.
Bring On 2014.
Great Things Are Coming.

These remarks should come as welcome news to Slipknot fans after nearly three weeks of uncertainty following the departure of founding member and key songwriter Joey Jordison, which you can read about here. While the band has expressed a desire to work on new material (their first since the 2010 death of bassist Paul Gray); currently no announcement for Jordison has been named, nor have the exact reasons for his departure been specified at this time.
Joey is currently involved with his new side project Scar The Martyr, which features members from Strapping Young Lad and Darkest Hour. More information on the band can be found here.
