Still buzzing from The Hunting Party, and can’t get enough of Linkin Park’s latest record? Well you’re in luck. Linkin Park’s very own video director and DJ and Joseph Hahn has just released his first full length motion picture ‘Mall’, and to celebrate the release of the new film, the band has released a brand new track titled “White Noise”. Written and recorded during The Hunting Party sessions, White Noise actually only involves Chester Bennington, Dave Farrell, Joseph Hahn and Mike Shinoda from the band, but is still being promoted technically as a Linkin Park release. The track features an infectious toy piano riff, distorted guitars, brutally aggressive screamed vocals from Bennington, and a pounding early-NIN style drum pattern, that brings the band the closest they have ever come to an industrial-rock sound. We never expected to hear such a strong NIN-influence on a track from these boys, but we’re certainly loving what we hear and would love the band to continue in this direction!
WHITE NOISE is one of four tracks listed in the movie’s end credits along with Ammosick, Warm Spell and Luna. There’s no details about a full soundtrack release available just yet but vocalist Mike Shinoda has previously mentioned that we can expect it soon. It is also uncertain as to whether or not the band recorded more music for the soundtrack that wasn’t featured in the movie.
