My last show with the boys of October Sky was in Lancaster, Pa. Read my thoughts below:
We stayed in Connecticut the night before and finished the rest of the drive to Pennsylvania in the morning. Thankfully, we were on time for load-in (unlike in Connecticut), and the boys had their sound check and all was good for the day’s show. It was a sweet venue that had three levels: One was for the stage, the second was for the bar, and the third was an outside bar. I had enough time to set up merch and ended up killing it in sales that night. I also did a final merch count for the boys, so we were able to re-stock all of our merchandise for my last show with them.
October Sky killed it per usual, and I got some awesome shots of them that they used for their Instagram.
Alex and Karl taught me so much on this tour, and I’m so thankful that I’ve had the chance to follow them and work for them. They took me under their wing and really accepted me as a part of their team. They wanted me to succeed with them, and I think that’s exactly what happened. I gained knowledge, experience, and most of all, new friends.
At the end of the night, I was talking to someone how I was terrified about not knowing what was next for me. He gave me some solid advice.
He said, “It’s about embracing the journey. Sure, you’ll fuck up and make mistakes, but you keep on going. It’s okay not to know what’s next. You keep doing what you love.”
Next, Assuming We Survive took the stage by storm. I was front row one more time during this tour, watching one of my favorite bands completely destroy the set. It was such a cool show for me: They invited me side-stage for the last song (which happens to be my favorite) because I asked them if it was possible to get a stage picture, and they made it happen for me.
After the show we unloaded the merch set up and moved everything back into the RV.
The guys all helped me get my luggage out of the RV and into my friend’s car.
Hugs were given and pictures were taken.
It’s a strange feeling.
I’m currently typing this at my computer at work. I slept in my own bed last night. I took a shower in my own apartment. I ate a ton of post tour carbs as soon as I got home.
I’m back to the cubicle life and the daily 9-5 work grind of good ol’ Manhattan. I’m not living in an RV traveling from city to city. I’m not at a show every night hanging out with amazing people and doing merch for October Sky.
I’m not shooting the shit with Assuming We Survive. I’m back to my reality, and it’s a bittersweet feeling. So much has changed for me, and so much hasn’t.
This tour will forever be memories on my wall, and the new friends I’ve gained with October Sky and Assuming We Survive will always have a special place in my heart.

I can’t wait to see what you continue to do in this industry.
