According to a report by Rolling Stone this morning, Glenn Danzig is to reunite with the Misfits at Riot Fest after 33 years of animosity between the band’s founding members. Billed as “The Original Misfits”, the reunion of the pioneering horror-punk outfit will include Danzig on vocals, bassist Jerry Only, and guitarist Doyle. A drummer has not yet been announced. The Denver and Chicago Riot Fest lineups are to be announced to the public next week, but The Original Misfits are set to appear at both festivals. Denver’s Riot Fest will occur on September 2nd and 4th, while Chicago’s Riot Fest will take place September 16 through 18th.
As of late, both Danzig and Misfits have been busy. Danzig has been working on a new solo album, in addition to an Elvis Presley covers album. Misfits have been teasing a new EP, Friday the 13th, set to be released this Friday, May 13.
