October Sky Tour Diary: Hamden Tour Date

When you’re on the road, you have to learn to be flexible and expect the unexpected, especially during sets and schedule changes.

Today’s set times got pushed back, so we had some time to kill. Since we were spending the night in Jersey, the boys and I decided to head to my apartment nearby to shower before we hit the road.

After a quick shower and coffee, we were back on the road to Connecticut.

On this tour, the venues we’ve hit are usually pretty small, so if something happens you need to have quick and flexible reactions.

Today in Hamden, Karl was a frickin’ champ. During one of his songs, his keyboard fell right off the stand and onto the ground. Kris from Assuming We Survive saved the day and swooped in to put it back up for him.

Karl managed to kill the set despite the keyboard mishap or “technical issues” as the bands like to call it.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned about the guys on this tour, it’s that they support one another whole-heartedly. They’re there for each other and they want everyone to do well and kick serious ass. There’s nothing but a family vibe on this tour, and everyone is so down to earth.

It’s kind of like The Chainsmokers’ lyrics: “If we go down then we go down together.”

After tonight’s show, we’re in Philadelphia.
