Jack White has canceled the remaining shows on his tour due to the sudden, unfortunate death of backing keyboardist, 38-year-old Isaiah ‘Ikey’ Owens. Owens was a Grammy-award winning musician and has worked with a number of artists such as Jack White, the Mars Volta, De Facto, Free Moral Agents and many more. He was found dead in his hotel room in Mexico early Tuesday (October 14th) morning.

The following was posted via the Jack White Facebook page; ‘It is with great sadness that we tell the world of the passing of the incredible musician Isaiah ‘Ikey’ Owens. He will be missed and loved forever by his family, friends, bandmates and fans.’

According to the coroner, the death was due to a heart attack, that is believed to have happened around 4:00 am on the day of death. Aside from a small amount of marijuana, no drugs were found in his room.

“We will all miss you Ikey. You were and are an incredible artist.”

Ikey was a beloved member of his hometown in Long Beach, CA, as well as within the music community. He will be missed.
