Gorillaz Tease New Album, Debut ‘Hollywood’ Live

Barely a year following the release of long-awaited Gorillaz fifth studio release, Humanz, Damon Albarn and Jamie Hewlett are back at it again, last week debuting a brand new track live in Chile.

Promising a new album “out very soon” to an eagerly awaiting audience, the virtual group proceeded to dive into the infectious, bass-driven ‘Hollywood’, featuring collaborators Jamie Principle (previously featured on Humanz‘s ‘Sex Murder Party’) and Snoop Dogg (pre-recorded audio during the performance, previously featured on Plastic Beach‘s ‘Welcome to the World of the Plastic Beach’. In turn, Gorillaz have also appeared on Snoop Dogg‘s Doggumentary track, ‘Sumthin Like This Night’).

The live debut of ‘Hollywood’, and promised brand new studio album, alongside the previously performed ‘Ode to Idaho’ (also known simply as ‘Idaho’), marks the continued completion of the virtual group’s conceptual Phase Four: We Are Still Humanz, with an upcoming commencement of the yet untitled Phase Five to begin alongside the next Gorillaz studio release.
