For concert reviews, we usually combine all the bands into one review. However; On December 2, 2014 at the Santander Center in Reading PA, both Slipknot and Korn‘s performances were so strong during the Prepare For Hell Tour that I had to split the concert up into two reviews.
In what has to go down as easily one of the best hard rock shows I have ever seen, this band constantly whipped the crowd into a frenzy enticing multiple mosh pits to develop throughout the floor. Being from Reading and seeing many shows at this venue, this place never lets you down as far as sound goes. Korn took full advantage of this. Their performance that night showed how professional this band is by playing each song as hard as ever, never missing a beat, and constantly thanking the fans for their support over the years. They tore into each song with such fury that you could not help getting up and going the fuck off.
While attending concerts, I like to be entertained both acoustically and visually and Korn is one band that takes advantage of both categories. Korn’s on-stage performance ranks right up there with the best. The image of the dreadlocks hitting the floor with each headbang is a Korn staple. It’s one of those images where when you see that happen, you know your senses are ready to get an ass-kicking. Their performance that night was an energy boost that no caffeine drink could match. Even more impressive is how Jonathan Davis’ vocals, after over 20 years of performing and giving it his all on stage, still sound as young and powerful as ever, and in many ways stronger than ever before.
The absolute quality of the performance leads to my only gripe of the night. Now, I could be a little biased here being a fan of Korn since their creation and I understand that tours need a full card, but I just wish just once someone would do us a favor and have the balls to try a two-band headliner show with equal sets. Korn only had enough time to do 11 songs during their set. Let that sink in for a minute. A band around for 20 years, and they only had time for 11 songs. In my opinion, Korn has earned the respect from both fans and other bands to be granted way more than an 11 song set; especially on a night when they were firing on all cylinders. I mean really, I understand how it works, but I urge the powers that be to break the mold just once with one of these headlining tours. Please? I’m sure I’m not the only one begging for it.

In finishing this review, Korn, once again, has proven that they are as strong as ever and are taking no prisoners while performing on this tour. Fans can look forward to seeing this band, however, just keep in mind that this will be an unexpectedly short performance. It must have been hard to narrow down their setlist with their huge collection of songs, but thankfully Korn made the right choices. Have no fear since the Slipknot performance that follows Korn is fucking amazing. This tour is a must see for anyone who is into hard, heavy rock and wants to have an experience of a lifetime.
